A course is the basic teaching unit, it's design as a medium for a student to acquire comprehensive knowledge and skills indispensable in the given field. A course guarantor is responsible for the factual content of the course.
For each course, there is a department responsible for the course organisation. A person responsible for timetabling for a given department sets a time schedule of teaching and for each class, s/he assigns an instructor and/or an examiner.
Expected time consumption of the course is expressed by a course attribute extent of teaching. For example, extent = 2 +2 indicates two teaching hours of lectures and two teaching hours of seminar (lab) per week.
At the end of each semester, the course instructor has to evaluate the extent to which a student has acquired the expected knowledge and skills. The type of this evaluation is indicated by the attribute completion. So, a course can be completed by just an assessment ('pouze zápočet'), by a graded assessment ('klasifikovaný zápočet'), or by just an examination ('pouze zkouška') or by an assessment and examination ('zápočet a zkouška') .
The difficulty of a given course is evaluated by the amount of ECTS credits.
The course is in session (cf. teaching is going on) during a semester. Each course is offered either in the winter ('zimní') or summer ('letní') semester of an academic year. Exceptionally, a course might be offered in both semesters.

Annotation:
The goal of this course is to familiarise students with the information systems topic and information systems implementation principles. During the course, students are introduced to "on the market" existing types of systems and their usage in specific industry segments. Students are familiarised with the CRM, ERP, MRP and other types of information systems. The fundamental part of the course is the introduction to key ideas of an information system selection, evaluation of information system benefits, ways of information systems implementation and information system implementation based on the project management principles. The emphasis is on the initial customer analysis, customer insight and ability to decide whether it is better to implement any existing information system or to develop a new one from scratch. These factors determine the information system implementation success. At the end of the course information systems security, operation, support, maintenance, legislation impacts, and government information systems topics are discussed.

1. Introduction to the course and issues of information systems - data, information, information management, information system, benefits of information system, reasons for implementation.
2. Methods and procedures in the implementation of information systems, life cycle of information systems, specifics of information systems implementation, structure of implementation team and risks of implementation projects.
3. Methods of information system implementation, identification and collection of requirements for information system implementation with regard to the current state and future development of the organization, process management.
4. Division of information systems, criteria for division of information systems, history of information systems, manufacturers and suppliers of information systems.
5. ERP systems, production support systems, CRM/xRM systems.
6. Document management systems, RMS, management information systems.
7. Information systems for state administration.
8. Structure of information systems, possibilities of expansion, functional and data integration with other systems.
9. Management and maintenance of information systems.
10. Methods of operation of information systems, specifics of information system operation in cloud and on-premise environment, shadow IT.
11. Legislative aspects of implementation and operation of information systems.
12. Quality of implementation and operation of information systems.
13. Security of information systems.

Requirements:
Entry knowledge: General knowledge about database technologies, client server principle, basic knowledge about tools for description of real systems behaviour (for example case tools, UML,etc.), user interface implementation knowledge, overview of systems implementation and programming technologies. Project management and essential economic-managerial knowledge.
